The maker of stocks, jus, glace and gravy for the professional chef is one of the sponsors of the 2010 Taste of Staffordshire Master Chef and Young Chef of Tomorrow awards.
The competition invites budding chefs aged 16 to 20 and experienced chefs aged 21 and upwards to submit menus for a three-course meal using seasonal local ingredients, costing no more than £20 and prepared in less than two hours. Read more>>

Young chef Aaron Darnley has just returned from representing England in an international ‘cook off’ in Chile, thanks to sponsorship from Essential Cuisine.
The 20-year-old, a member of the British Culinary Federation, who works at Edmund’s restaurant in Brindley Place, Birmingham, finished sixth out of 17 countries in the Hans Bueschkens Junior Chef Challenge. The event took place in January during the World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WACS) Congress in Santiago.

Essential Cuisine has been ultra-busy in the kitchen and at the drawing board with some carefully researched tweaks to two of its ranges to give chefs even better products to work with.
Managing director Nigel Crane said they had built up such good relationships with chefs in the past year, they had been able to glean invaluable suggestions on how Essential Cuisine could fine tune its ranges.
